THE PLOT:
The year is 1799 and Inspector Ichabod Crane is a rebel within the Police Force, he feels that following the evidence will
lead to solving of the crime instead of picking up suspicous looking people and beating them until one of them talks.
The Burgomaster sends Ichabod to prove this theory by ordering him to solve a series of bizarre murders which seem to
have no connection. Ichabod arrives at the quaint town of Sleepy Hollow and they are hiding a secret.
Part of the secret has caused the ghost of a dead Hessian Soldier, to rise up from the grave again. But his the Headless
Horsemen's targets as randimised as some would like to believe or is there a pattern, and the more Icabod gets digs, the closer
he gets to the truth and perhaps losing his life.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
Okay, right off the bat. I am a tad disappointed about the re-write on the classic characters in this story. Everybody knows
that Icabod Crane was a school teacher. No body mention that this was the son or nephew of another Icabod who died here. So
I must assume that it's the Icabod from the original story. Anyway, with that said I do like the environment, the spooky atmosphere.
But like some movies that are all atmosphere, Sleepy Hollow has lots of substance, frights, gore effects, clever lines. Despite
the change in the story, it actually works, plus it's CSI: COLONIAL, that was clever. Yes, I got to admit. This is a good
movie and worthy of attention. 9 STARS.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree, but being a fan of the original story and the actual legend of Sleepy Hollow, I too was a tad disappointed with the
way they re-cast Icabod as a cop instead of scrawny teacher. But I got to admit, this adaptation does hold allot of good
points and since it is a legend it's opened to interpertation. 8 STARS.

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ EFFECTS (Most realistic head chopping ever.)
+ ATMOSPHERE (Foggy, spooky and creepy.)
+ HEADLESS HORSEMEN (Best looking Headless Horsement ever.)
+ CHARACTERS (Though changed, they were well written.)
+ MYSTERY (Follow the clues and see the pattern in the grisley murders.)
+ ACTING (The acting is wonderful.)
+ ANTIQUE CSI (That was interesting, don't know how much of it is true, but it looked cool.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- MINOR CHANGES (Not sure we liked the minor changes for this.)
- INSPECTOR CRANE? (As far as we know Icabod was a scrawny Teacher, not a cop way ahead of his time.)
...AND FINALLY...
- FAN BASED (If you are the fan of the way the story was original told you may not like this adaptation.)
