THE PLOT:

When Sharon the daughter of Rose and Christopher Da Silva start acting strange and screams out Silent Hill in her nightmares, the parents decide to take Sharon to Silent Hill to discover what is wrong with her and the source of these bad dreams.

But once there, Rose drives through a spectre girl that looks like Sharon. Rose awakens to find Sharon is missing and the town of Silent Hill is under a curse. Meanwhile Christopher is trying to get to her in order to help, but all of a sudden a cop's road block tells him a cover story of a coal fire burning for the last decade or so and it's not safe to enter.

What is the secret of Silent Hill? Why is it cursed? Where are the strange monsters coming from? What is the source of the Nightmare world? Who is that cop? Why is he trying to cover up the truth? These are the questions that will be explored in SILENT HILL. If you're brave enough to explore this one evil town.

ZEDD'S OPINION:

Okay, my brother has played two of the four video games in this series and I watched them as he played them. This adaptation of the video games stays fateful to the video game. They created new characters, but some of the situation is similar to the first video game. The acting and the effects are incredibly cool. I love the creature effects and the story does work. Now there are some character issues. Like the Rose character in my book is a bit of a wussy, all she does is scream and scream. The characters in the games would kick ass, not scream like a four year old. Also, without giving it away, the climax of the movie is confusing and somewhat disappointing. Let's hope that they pick it up in the next movie. 8 STARS.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

I agree to a point, there is a chacter from the video games and not to give too much away, they change her fate in this movie. Which I don't approve of. But it keeps you guessing, if a video game character isn't safe, then who is? That's why I have to give it a slightly lower grade with 7 STARS.

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ STORY (The story is pretty good.)
+ ADAPTATION OF VIDEO GAME (The adaptation is fateful to the video games.)
+ CHARACTERS (For the most part, the characters are likable.)
+ CREATURES (The creatures are right from the video game.)
+ ATMOSPHERE (The creepy atmosphere works.)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- ROSE DA SILVA (She is a bit of a whimp and only through dumb luck isn't killed off in the first five minutes.)
- ENDING (Without giving it away, it's disappointing.)

...AND FINALLY...

- FAN BASED (If you aren't a fan of the video game series SILENT HILL, then you may not like this adaptation.)
