THE PLOT:

As Samwise and Frodo grow closer to Mount Doom and the end of their quest, the forces of Mordor advance on the last united front of the world of Men.

Samwise feels that Gollum is not their friend, but is tricking them and he is. He's not leading them to Mount Doom, he's leading them to a monster spider. But Frodo is convinced that Gollum is reformed, or has the ring got control over his mind?

ZEDD'S OPINION:

I got to admit that I am impressed with THE RETURN OF THE KING. The final installment of the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy. The story, the characters and the acting are true to the novel. No major changes that I can tell either. The best picture of the year and for once in the history of the Oscars, I agree whole heartily. The emotion, the monsters, the effects were all just perfect. Not thrilled with the design of the Nazgul, I liked the TV animated movie much better. The floating glowing eyes thing. Anyway, I do feel that this is a perfect movie and I would hate to think that anyone on this planet would hate or even dislike this movie, I think everyone should see it and I give it a perfect 10 STARS.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

I agree, even though the animated made for TV movies will be my favorite, this will come in second. Still is much better then the animated movie "LORD OF THE RINGS". Which was terrible, but that's a different review. Anyway, I agree with Zedd on this and I too give it a perfect 10.

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ STORY (The story is great.)
+ TRUE TO THE NOVEL (No major changes.)
+ CHARACTERS (Well written.)
+ ACTING (Oscar worthy.)
+ EFFECTS (Killer effects.)
+ ATMOSPHERE (I can feel that I could climb in and explore the world of Middle Earth.)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- SOME CREATURE DESIGNS (We prefer some of the creature designs from the TV animated movies, like Gollum and Nazgul.)

...AND FINALLY...

- RATING (In my book, it didn't earn a PG-13. Nope, it's stupid to hide children from reality. The Japanese and Spanish don't and they're kids are going nuts and shooting up schools.)
