THE PLOT:

Superman returns afters five years in deep space exporing the remains of the ruins of his home planet of Kypton. In that time, things changed. Lois has married Parry White's son Richard and had a child. Lex Luthor married a rich old broad to inharriet all her money when she croaked.

Lex returns to Superman's fortess to examine the crystal and discover the secret to make them grow and has an idea to bring a little piece of kypton to Earth and sell it. Not caring that this lattest land scheme can destroy the earth.

ZEDD'S OPINION:

Okay, the new CG effects are incredible, and Kevin Spacey makes a cool Lex Luthor. But there are some flaws with this newest Superman. One, it has many of the flaws the older Christopher Reeves movie had. Including the fact that the sun of Krypton didn't explode, the planet exploded. Superman returned to Krypton once in the comic book, he modified the ship he had as a baby and it got him there and back in a shorter span of time then five years. What is with women in these movies, can't wait for anything. Superman is gone for five years and she gets married. The guy in castaway gets marooned for four years and his wife remains. My god, real women in real life wouldn't do that. They would care too much and would wait until they knew what happened. Since the kid is about five, Lois didn't wait very long. Also, with over sixty years of villains and stories they could turn to for a movie, what is the bulk of the plot, another Lex Luthor land scheme? What's up with that? But I'm glad to see a new Superman movie and I hope they don't rush on the next one and do it right. Of course they could just ask me, I got a plot for them. 7 STARS.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

I agree with Zedd on his opinion. But to add to that I think that Brandon Routh and Kate Bosworth were a tad stiff for the roles. Hopefully, they lighten up and mellow out for the next one. So it looks more like a Superman movie and less like a poorly written episode of Smallville. Plus, what is with the plot? It's like some Warner Brothers Exec walked into the staff writers room and said, you have 48 hours to create a new Superman flick or you're all fired and this is the best they could come up with. Sorry, I think they could have done better, it was kind of cool to see Brando though. 5 STARS

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ EFFECTS (The effects are assume.)
+ BRANDO RETURNS (Marlon Brando looks good for being dead.)
+ KEVIN SPACE AND PARKER POSEY (They do a great job.)
+ HUMOR (Like the other movies, it has a sense of humor running through it.)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- PLOT (After all this, why rush a new movie. Another Luthor land scheme?)
- STIFF (Brandon Routh is a bit stiif, hopefully loosens up by the next flick.)
- OLD FLAWS RETURNS (Kypton exploded, not Kypton's sun.)
- LOIS (Did she wait a year before she got married?)

...AND FINALLY...

- FAN BASED (If you didn't like the first four movies, then you will not like this one.)
